How can i get my car to austin from houston with out a registration sticker?

i have a car that my grandparents just bought for me but i need to get it registered in austin so that i can drive it. Are there any exceptions with the law that will allow me to do so until i get the sticker next week?|||Auto Registration in the state of Texas covers the entire state - in other words, you don't have to have it registered in a specific city... All that matters is that you get it registered to your name and your current address. If you register at the DMV, you'll get paperwork that shows that you registered the car in case you get pulled over on your way back to Austin.|||go to your local Department of Motor Vehicles and ask for a moving permit- or actually the DMV where the car is located. they will give you a 3 day sticker (or whatever the # of days your state allows) that will allow you to move the vehicle and drive it to where you need to take it to register it.|||Austin and Houston are in the same state. A registration in Austin is good in any part of Texas.|||both cities are in Texas. why can't you register it in Austin and not worry about it anymore.|||Rent a Uhaul with a towing attachment
